Why common workpiece needs Titanium ?
The common workpiece can’t satisfy the operating requirements under tough conditions such as high temperature or high friction. Titanium can help common workpiece reduce the friction, increase the hardness, extend its service life and make it fit for tough working conditions. |

I. New technology and new equipment (Completely Japanese technology and equipment)
1. Degreasing Cleaning Machine
If the workpiece is attached with water , oil and other impurities while being titanium plated, the will come off easily. Henceforth, the cleaning procedure is very important.
The rigid demand for indoor environment and stringent control over cleaning process at PUNCH Industry ( Dalian ) Co., Ltd. are beyond the reach of most domestic enterprises.
The cleaner consists of 7 sinks, automatic moving from sink to sink. Ultra-sonic means are employed to clean the mini-pores and even the inside of holes.
The operating environment is kept tidy and clean with a constant room temperature at 25℃ to prevent dewfall on the surface of workpiece, contributing to greatly extended service life of workpiece thanks to the close integrating of with the impurity-free surface. |
2.Treatment Furnace
Employing plasma electronic beam welding type and plasma electronic gun to result in smoother surface.
At PUNCH Industry ( Dalian ) Co., Ltd. there are two kinds of titanium- treatment available: PVD-TiN and PVD-TiCN.
1) PVD-TIN plating layer is single coating.
The gas is N2 (nitrogen) , Ti( cation )+N TiN
2) PVD-TICN plating layer , triple-coating
The close to substrate is TiN.
Nitrogen is used.
Ti(Cation)+ N TiN
On the second and third coating, C2H2 increased and N2 reduced.
Ti+C+H+N TiCN (H doesn't attach to the workpiece)
Caution: The operating temperature for PVD is between 450-500℃. Materials with annealing temperature lower than 500℃ are not fit for PVD treatment. |

Rheological Finishing

Finishing is one of the essential procedures in mold processing. The finishing quality is very important to the mold quality. With the diversification of cavity shape, and increasingly stringent demand on precision, finishing is becoming more and more difficult . In many fields, traditional finishing means can't meet the demand of customers any more. The cavity of this die was made by wire cutting process, and need further finishing to improve its surface quality by removing the “white layer” formed in wire cutting process. The traditional means is to cut the white layer with a supersonic tool followed by further finishing with a polishing wheel or abrasive stick, which will take a few hours and provide no guarantee for size and shape precision. And in case of mass production, the compatibility amongst parts will be a problem. In order to solve this problem, a myriadof solutions have been given by manufacturers respectively . The follows are our solutions:
We employ Rheological Finishing to solve the above-mentioned problem. Its principles are as follows: Mixthe workpiece with diamond dust and put them into the working cylinder which is air-tight. The finishing dusts remain running at high speed under high pressure with the help of the oil pressure unit of Rheological Finishing Machine , and pass through the space between the surface-to-be-finished and the tools repeatedly to polish the surface of workpiece by means of grinding. The finishing dust can flow into anywhere like liquid under high pressure, which allows finishing of those small grooves, pores and holes on the surface of workpiece, and results in both high surface finish and high size and shape precision. |
Rheological Finishiing Machine
This hydrofinish technology presently is only applicable for the moldcavities with through holes and exterior grooves on small components. The workpiece to be processed shall not be too large. E.g., The scope of workpiece to be processed with the hydrofinish machine of PUNCH
Industry Dalian isφ80×H260, i.e., the excircle of cavity to be polished shall not exceedφ80 and the height shall not exceed 260mm.
In spite of the restriction on the applications of hydrofinish technology, it has contributed much to the improvement of polishingtechnology. Compared to traditional polishing technology, the most significant benefit of hydrofinish technology is to greatly improve
the polishing efficiency and effects of shape products and products with a deep hole, resulting in the high interchangeability of large amount of products to be polished. In a word, the hydrofinish technology, as one of the high performance polishing means, will find extensive
applications.
